I love painting with light.
I love capturing light as it pours through a window, gently highlighting eyes that hold a story.
Ever since I can remember, I have memories of intently looking through family photo albums, magazines, and pictures (always first) in any book.
I poured myself into visual arts, creative writing and photography classes in high school and college. After studying in Birmingham, England my sophomore year of college, I decided to become a photojournalist, combining my love of writing and photography.
In 1998, I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication.
The writing took a back seat to the photography when I became a portrait photographer at ProEx Studios in 1999. After having my daughter in 2001, I decided to branch out on my own, creating LightSmile Photography.
Today, my passion is capturing and unveiling the beauty of each person I photograph.
